Red Cross Week & Bucket Shake 2022

How to support and celebrate The Red Cross during their biggest fundraising event of the year

Red Cross Week is celebrated between 6th and 13th of May. The week is timed to tie in with World Red Cross and Red Crescent day which is celebrated on the 8th May every year. It is the charity's biggest fundraising and awareness campaign of the year, and there are lots of ways to get involved.

Those who would like to support the charity can help raise awareness by downloading the Red Cross Kindness Calendar off their website, doing a small act of kindness every day and sharing on social media using the hashtag #PowerofKindness.

The Red Cross is a charity that works to help people in crisis all over the world. Support is offered in a diverse variety of ways, from emergency help and medical support in times of crisis such as war, terrorism or natural disaster to helping those dealing with loneliness and supporting victims of modern slavery and trafficking.

Londoners can use Red Cross Week to get involved in fundraising and help people in Crisis all over the world. There will be fundraising events, such as cake sales, open gardens and leisure events happening in your local community, as well as sponsored events for you to support or participate in, throughout this week. Red Cross Week is also an opportunity to learn about and celebrate the charitable work of the Red Cross throughout history.

Become a Bucket Shaker Volunteer In Your Local Community

There has never been a more important time for the British Red Cross. Prior to the Ukraine Crisis, over 80 million people were displaced across the world. Now a further 10 million people have joined that devastating number, making the work that we do even more vital.

So, if you have a bucket load of enthusiasm, a few hours to spare and a desire to raise money for people in crisis this is a great way to show it. Just a couple of hours shaking a bucket will help raise money to enable the Red Cross to provide the support necessary to those in crisis in the UK and across the world – whether that is food, clothing, first aid, cash, healthcare, or emotional support.
