London Living’s Top 5 Vegan Eats
The month of January is always a time for new beginnings, fresh starts, and resolutions, and this January (for reasons we really don’t need to explain) feels more health-focused than ever before. One thing is for certain, whether you are going RED (run every day) DRY (alcohol free for the month) or VEGAN (plant-based diet), it’s a challenge!
Here at London Living we are all about Veganuary, but midway through the month our diets have become a little bit meh and we are running out of fresh vegan recipe ideas. We decided, therefore, to hit up the best vegan restaurants that London has to offer, for some plant-based food inspo, and in doing so discovered that Vegan restaurants can actually be even yummier than their carnivorous counterparts!
Read on to discover our Top 5 Vegan Eats…

Each flavoursome dish contains surprising ingredients, drawing inspiration from all around the world. They are best known for their indulgent Mac’N’Cheese and their burgers, but they also offer healthy salads and whole-food plant-based dishes.
We visited their chic Chelsea restaurant which is nestled in an adorable and very plush local mews, near Sloane Square. The staff were welcoming, there is outside seating, a good vegan wine menu and we absolutely loved their selection of beautifully presented veggie treats.
Our dishes of choice were the Tex Mex Salad with black beans, avocado and sweetcorn, baby gem, datterini tomatoes, red onions, red peppers, red rice and salsa with savoury pecan crunch in a coriander and cashew cream dressing (£13.95) and Gyozo Dumplings stuffed with smoked Tofu, Kimchi and King Oyster mushrooms (£7.95). We washed it down with a glass of Salice Salentino Riserva Tauro, Vegan wine. (£6.00)
Despite the luxurious location we were pleasantly surprised by the prices, which is why Wulf & Lamb is top of our top 5

Farmacy in Notting Hill is renowned for innovative, nutritional, and organic dishes, as well as its array of plant-based comfort foods. Labelled as the ‘friendly face’ of plant-based eating in London, Farmacy champions the belief that ‘food is medicine’ and supports local, organic & biodynamic farming.
The Founder Camilla Fayed, daughter of Mohammed Al Fayed, created the restaurant concept after personally experiencing the powerful healing benefits of a plant-based diet. Her passion lies in natural farming, and she has even set up a foundation based on biodynamics, a sustainable and holistic approach to agriculture, with the aim of creating educational initiatives to share this knowledge.
The flagship restaurant in Notting Hill is beautifully designed, very light and airy. Attracting a ‘ladies who brunch’ sophisticated crowd.
You can choose from dishes such as the fiery Mexican Bowl (£15) which is a plant-based take on the classic chilli, featuring sprouted & steamed brown rice, Oaxaca style mixed bean frijoles, pico de gallo, jalapeños, green chilli dressing and sweet corn sauce. A great winter warmer! The vegan brunch options are also tempting, as is the Winter Bowl (£13) which packs in a variety of seasonal produce and natural goodness to boost immunity.

This January saw a new Planet Organic Kitchen menu, with some new hot mains, salads and sides, including the Planet Caesar with homemade vegan parmesan, Sesame Tofu Stir Fry and the Jackfruit Pie with sweet potato mash & winter greens.
We particularly loved all the Vegan breakfast options!
BONUS TIP - RUBY’S OF LONDON
Greenwich Market
Monday - Friday; 9am - 2:00pm
Saturday & Sunday; Closed
Website: www.rubysoflondon.com
OK, so we went a little bit off piste with this one, but who say’s vegan food can’t include wonderfully, sweet, fluffy, creamy cakes!?
Ruby is a certified vegan baker who also specialises in products that are free from wheat, gluten, and refined sugars. She was diagnosed with a childhood dairy and egg intolerance which often left her with the uninspiring ‘free from’ option, while looking longingly at the other children’s glorious birthday cakes. She started her business from her London home with no money to invest, just passion and determination and a dream of having her own shop and she achieved that dream in July 2021, with her first shop in Greenwich Market!
We can confirm that Ruby has taken vegan eating to a whole new level of deliciousness.
Visit her vegan patisserie in Greenwich Market or take a trip to Selfridges Food Hall.
