Where to Watch The Six Nations Rugby In London

The Six Nations Championship is the oldest international rugby tournament in the world, dating back to its original incarnation in 1883 and expanding to its current format of six teams in 2000. It consists of three highly competitive annual tournaments across men’s, women’s and under 20’s Rugby.

In 2021 Six Nations was a bit of a non-event for England fans - 5th place, a title for Wales and a lockdown to boot. In 2022, however, it's an entirely different ball game.

The tournament takes place between February 5th and March 19th, and yes, we are allowed to watch it with friends, and have a pint!

There are many cosy pubs and bars showing the fixtures across London, as well as big screens with a big atmosphere, so we’ve rounded up the best of them.

Here’s our top picks…

Trumans Social Club

Truman’s Social Club on Blackhorse Lane has been designed to celebrate East London’s rich history - that Truman’s has been a part of for over 350 years – and bring the community together to forge the next chapter of an ever-changing city.

They will be showing all televised matches on a huge projector screen in the event space or screens in the main beer hall and there are 20 taps of beer and a menu of small plates, pizzas and burgers to keep your belly filled.

Vinegar Yard

This February, London Bridge’s premier drinking and dining venue Vinegar Yard has partnered with the Six Nations title sponsor Guinness to transform their courtyard into a GUINNESS SIX NATIONS venue, where for 6 weeks they will exclusively screen all of the matches.

The courtyard is heated and covered with an outdoor bar and big screens showing every match. There are tables which are bookable for large groups, plus pizza specialists Bad Boys Pizza Society will be on hand to back the home team, offering a special ‘England Margs’ pizza for the occasion.

Tickets for the screenings are FREE for general admission or £6 to include seating and your first pint free.

Alongside all the action, they’ll also have post-match DJs keeping the atmosphere electric late into the evenings, three exciting BIG Rugby Banquets featuring some special guests, and delicious food and drink offers - including the return of the Guinness Kitchen - to keep you fuelled.

The Elephant and Castle

Offering bookable tables for the Six Nations, The Elephant and Castle Pub has just opened a new basement sports bar offering more table space for avid sports fans. If you’re looking for pubs showing Rugby, at any time of year, this is your go to spot.

On top of that, the food is great (both main dishes and nibbles) and the drinks menu is extensive. During warmer months the outdoor beer gardens are full of happy faces, but if you wrap up warm it can be an equally pleasant place to spend a few hours.
